Hiring the right office relocation service

Office Relocation Services

If you’ve ever been in a position where you have to move or relocate a business, then you know it can be a lengthy and time-consuming process. You might be tempted to try and tackle this on your own, but with office equipment and files and other important items needing to be moved, it’s worth it to try and hire a commercial removal service that can do the work and do it right. But, how do you find the right business mover for you? Here are some things to keep in mind:

Get Recommendations

One of the best ways to find a good moving service is to ask around. Chances are you know of other offices that have had to move. Who did they find to handle this task? Also, look online and see what moving services are in the area. Make a list and do your research. What customer reviews can you find online? By paying attention to what others are saying, you can start to build a list of possible office relocation services that are worth checking out.

Make Sure they are Insured

You don’t want to have anyone lift a single piece of equipment if they aren’t licensed and insured. Because they are literally moving your livelihood, you need to make sure they can be trusted to handle your items well, and that they can compensate you should something unexpected happen.

Get a Total Estimate

Now that you’ve started to narrow your choices down, it’s time to get some estimates. Regardless of whether the moving service wants to charge you by the hour or by the job, you need to get a quote in advance. If the quote they give you seems much lower than you expected, then be careful: it’s most likely too good to be true. Expect a fair price, but expect that you will be paying a decent amount for this service -- and realize that it’s worth it in the long run!

Form a Plan

Once you’ve decided on the company that fits your budget, get together and form a plan of attack. How many movers and vans they are planning on using for your relocation? What do they intend to do about sensitive or expensive equipment? How long do they expect it to take?

If everything sounds reasonable and you’re happy, then go ahead and get ready to move into your new office!
